ferry.hk is operated by Stealth Company Limited ("we", "us"). For privacy questions, use the contact form or email info@ferry.hk.

We use two analytics providers. Only one of them sets cookies:

Vercel Analytics

Cookieless, first-party, aggregate traffic and custom events. It does not set cookies and does not identify you as an individual.

Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

Sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_<id>) to measure how the site is used. Once advertising features are enabled, GA4 may also support ads personalisation. Google processes this data under Google's privacy policy.

Several things on ferry.hk are stored in localStorage only. The stored lists themselves never leave your browser — they are never uploaded to our servers or to any analytics provider:

• Route visit history (routeHistory) — kept for 180 days and used only on your device to order what you are offered — for example, which piers come first in the picker search and when planning an island hop, which region group leads the home page, and which routes are recommended. Only your most recent 30 days of visits affect that ordering; older visits are kept but do not change what you see, and every visit is deleted from your device after 180 days.
• Favourites list — saved routes and island-hop itineraries are kept on your device for quick access. Saved island-hop favourites include their stops, date, sailing pins, and shared/reminder-suppression flags; ferry.hk applies no automatic expiry. Pinning or unpinning a route sends only that acted-on pair to analytics (not the full list).
• Island-hop memory (islandHopMemory) — for itineraries not saved as favourites, keeps their stops, date, and sailing pins, plus whether they were shared or their reminder was silenced, for up to 30 days after the last use.
• Add-to-Home-Screen prompt state — so we nudge you at most once.
• Search text you type is never sent. Only the pier or route you choose is recorded as an outcome.
• Location (GPS) events record an action only (request / success / unavailable) — never coordinates.

If you submit the contact form, we receive your name, email address, message, and a short diagnostics block (browser, device, locale, app version, viewport, and similar technical details that need no extra permission) so we can reply and reproduce issues. The message is delivered to our inbox via Resend and is used only to respond to you. Analytics for the form records a success/failure bit only — never the name, email, message body, or diagnostics.

The only cookies ferry.hk sets today come from Google Analytics 4. Vercel Analytics sets none.

You can block GA4 with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (installs in major browsers), or by blocking cookies for ferry.hk in your browser settings. Clearing existing cookies alone is not an opt-out — GA4 may set them again on a later visit. Vercel Analytics continues to work without cookies.

We plan to use Google AdSense. When ads go live, this page will be updated to describe any additional cookies and ads personalisation. AdSense programme policies require a privacy policy that discloses cookie and personal-data use — this page is that disclosure.
